My goal is to bring people together one bite at a time. 

 

Chef Donell Harris, affectionately known as “Chef D” has worked in the hospitality and customer service industry for 16 years in various places across the United States. His career started by cooking for family and friends using ideas and concepts from his mother and grandmother. With his wife’s help and her eye for design, he launched his brand “Chef D” and the “Chef D Experience” by providing sweets for events and special occasions. In his first year of operation, Donell sold over 1,000 cupcakes and a little over 100 cakes. 

Chef Donell soon launched a full-time catering business offering new delicious savory dishes along with his very popular sweets, especially his take on White Velvet cake. He has been blessed serve a multitude of people while catering countless weddings, receptions, birthdays, church events and festivals. 

In 2016, Chef D will open his first bakery called Sweet Thang. He hopes to not only provide delectable decadent sweets, but also lots of LOVE as his passion for community is very important. 

Donell’s wife (Jovan) and children (Laila, Kimora and Aiden) are his support and heartbeat of the business. This dream come true is a result of them along with his parents, close friends and support from his Pastors, Dr. Jermone and Erica Glenn.
